okay, my best friend %26amp; her b/f came over to my house. He started talking to me which when he did, he stared into my eyes. Then later on, I had to ask him something and I moved in close %26amp; put my hand on his back, that's it, nothing more. Later on, (let me say this first, I call everyone "babe"), he asked me something and I said, "what did you need, babe?". Now she won't talk to me because she says I was flirting with him %26amp; I really wasn't or was I??

Calling everyone "babe" in my opinion is a little inappropriate (or immature) but to you, this is completely normal so I can't say that you are wrong. But in the same respect, your friend is not wrong either. Try to understand the situation from her eyes. You and her b/f stared into eachother's eyes and then you start calling him babe. Surely you can see why she is upset.





Be a good friend and respect her. Understand her insecurities and reassure her. Remember that noone is in the wrong, it is pure misunderstanding.

first you need to sit down with your friend and ask her why it bothered her after she tells you then talk it out tell her that you werent flirting with him and you dont even like him and even if you did you would tell her b4 you told anyone if that doesnt work then try sopmoeone elses answer i got nothin else

Reply:Well the problem is most people don't use the word "babe," with anyone except their significant other; however some, very few do. You are one of those few; but I don't think there's anything wrong with it, and you don't have to change for anyone, but it can easily be misinterpreted. I think you should modify slightly with, say your friend like you mentioned because she's obviously very sensitive; otherwise be yourself.
