39 years old friend. 37 weeks pregnant. Scheduled for a c-section tomorrow b/c of high blood pressure. Today?

she went to the hospital to register and they had her hooked up to the blood pressure machine and the nurse said that the doctor might want to do it today because her blood pressure was 153/103. After a call to the doctor, he said for her to go home and he would see her tomorrow. Isn't this too high? I mean, if he doesn't feel like doing the c-section tonight shouldn't he have at least admitted her into the hospital so she could be watched?

I agree if they are going to take the baby early due to the blood pressure why wait one more day! That is a little high and very dangerous and they should have keep her in the hospital to watch her!

Tell her my prayers are with her and the baby! good luck
Reply:Every moment the child can stay in the womb the better. Even for a day, if the doctor thought there were a risk he would have at least admitted her, even though he didn't perform the c-section.
Reply:If the blood pressure came down while she was just relaxing then waiting one day isn't going to hurt. I went to the hospital at 36 weeks with high BP and wasn't induced until the following afternoon. I was sent home because as long as I wasn't doing anything my BP would stabilize. So I went home and monitored my BP myself and since I was at home I was up and moving around and just even going to the bathroom would elevate my BP so I called my OB and I was induced with BP of like 172/112.
