Applebee's without a doubt. They have a large variety to choose from. If your date does not like fish Red Lobster would be a bad choice. Same with Macaroni Grill not every one likes Italian. Why would anyone want to go to IHOP?

Reply:Applebees if it's before payday, Red Lobster the day after payday. Our local IHOP burned down and I don't give a rip for Italian food, which I presume Macaroni Grill serves - besides, ain't no Macaroni Grill 'round here. But the best place I ever took a girlfriend for dinner was a dinner cruise abord the MV Carinne on Cayuga Lake here in Upstate New York. Hey, it worked - she accepted my proposal!

Reply:Well IHOP is definitely out unless you are retired which then there is nothing wrong because of the early bird specials. I have been on dates in Applebees and Red Lobster as they both are excellent for a neutral and safe place to take a date. I prefer Red Lobster because it has lobsters but the price of the date goes up versus Applebees. Macaroni Grill would be romantic because it is Italian (which I am) but it depends on the person you are taking out. Depending on what you pick to order, it could get quite pricey for a first date. The bottom line is how much, as a guy, you are willing to spend on a first date or a later date with your partner. All of these, minus IHOP, have great food and a nice atmosphere and serve alcohol to loosen up the awkwardness.
